Wayne D. Gray

Wayne started his career in 1980. He received national recognition year after year as both an agent and agency manager. Wayne has served as a home office executive for Prudential, MetLife and Mutual of Omaha. He has also served as a moderator for the insurance industry Agency Management Training Course (AMTC). He has been a featured speaker at many local National Association of Financial and Insurance Advisors (NAFIA) meetings and numerous industry training workshops. He built award winning agencies for Prudential, MetLife, BMA, AUL and American Senior Benefits. His Region with ASB has been the leading agency in the nation for the last two years. Today, with deep roots planted in Utah and ASB, he is looking forward to the next decade of developing the Mountain States Region.
Many high schools, churches, and community youth programs have invited Wayne as a guest speaker on college planning. He and his children have been accepted to: Rhodes College, MIT, Harvard, Berkley, University of Utah, Utah State, BYU, BYU Idaho, Air Force Academy and West Point.
Wayne has four children, eight grandchildren and has hosted 11 exchange students from around the world. He has two sons that have served in the Army that have both returned safely from serving in Iraq. In 2010 his youngest son was selected as the Soldier of the Year for Fort Polk, Louisiana. Wayne enjoys reading, golf, travel and visiting with his ever growing family.

After graduating from West Point, Larry served five years in the Army including a tour of duty in Iraq. He continued his service as a Captain in the National Reserve until 2014. In 2007 he moved to Salt Lake City and became a representative for American Senior Benefits. He was the Agent of the Year in 2008 and the Field Manager of the Year in 2009 and 2010. He was the District Manager of the Year for the region in 2011, 2013 and the #1 District Manager for ASB nationally in 2012, 13 and 14. He has qualified for and attended the companies national convention for the last six years. Today, he is using his engineering degree to the benefit of our many agents and clients as he provides training and counsel on both simple and complex financial solutions.
Larry and his wife, K’Lyn, have four small children and are active in their church and community. They also enjoy traveling and spending time with friends and family.

James joined ASB as an agent in Twin Falls, ID in October of 2011. Having excelled as an agent, in March of 2013 he was promoted and asked to take over the management responsibilities for the Boise, Idaho office of American Senior Benefits. James has 16 years of experience assisting people with their insurance and financial needs. As an insurance professional, he works primarily with those ages 64 and above. He believes this focus gives him the depth of knowledge needed to most effectively serve Idaho’s Social Security recipients in the areas of Medicare, long-term care, life insurance, and protection of financial assets. It is because of this level of service that James enjoys great relationships with a long list of clients on an ongoing basis.
James and his wife Jacki have four children ranging from elementary school age to college! The family moved up to Boise in June during the summer school break. They are enjoying learning about their new city and schools this year.
Doug Cluff, MBA
Doug joined American Senior Benefits as Recruiting Director in May of 2013 shortly after relocating to the Salt Lake City area from Las Vegas, NV. Doug graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in broadcast communications and received his MBA from the Florida institute of Technology. Prior to joining American Senior Benefits, he spent over 16 years in human resource management and staffing in the Las Vegas area. He currently works out of the Mountain States Regional Headquarters in West Jordan, UT. Doug was awarded as the Recruiter of the Year for ASB Nationally in 2013 and 2014.
Doug lives in the Sugar House area of Salt Lake and has a grown son and daughter who both live in the Salt Lake area. He enjoys spending time on his sail boat, scuba diving, and hiking in the beautiful Wasatch mountains.
Harold G. Higginson, CLTC
Senior Agent and Trainer
Harold is a consummate professional trainer. He was the Agent of the Year in his first year in 2009. He is a critical member of our organization assisting with training, agent development and workshops throughout the region. Harold served in the Marines. Later he owned restaurants and managed Hotels throughout the North West. He was an executive trainer for Franklin Covey and is a Certified Personal Performance Coach. Today, he is a confidant and adviser to the Regional Sales Manager.
Harold and his wife, RaJean, have been married since 1965. They have two children and grandchildren. They enjoy travel and friends.
Nate Billiter, MBA
Nate graduated from Brigham Young University and received his MBA from Westminster College. He has been on the startup side of numerous companies, creating professional networking groups and launching many businesses inside and outside of the insurance industry. He has served as a life coach and a mentor for numerous families. On many occasions he has been asked to speak before church and civic groups about finances and insurance. He was selected as the #2 Field Manager in the Region for 2013 and 2014. He was invited to attend the National Sales Convention for ASB in 2014 and 2015.
Nate and his wife Stephanie live in Mill Creek, Utah and have been married for over 10 years with 3 children; this includes a set of twins! They enjoy the outdoors, gardening, reading and playing with their children. Nate also enjoys boating in his canoe!
Gilbert DeWolf, MBA
Gilbert graduated from BYU in 1988. Gilbert joined American Senior Benefits in August of 2011 and quickly became one of the top producing agents in the region. He became a Field Manager in February of 2012 and ended the year as Field Manager of The Year. He achieved Platinum Achiever level with Allianz Life. He has earned his way to the 2012, 13, 14 and 15 national American Senior Benefits conventions. He was invited to be a keynote speaker at the American College in Dallas, Texas and presented to over 100 new and tenured agents.
Gilbert has been married to his lovely wife Rosa for 32 years and they have four children and one grandchild. Gilbert and Rosa have recently received a mission call from their church to Mexico and will be leaving in August of 2015. He is an avid outdoorsman who loves camping and hiking. He and his wife are excellent gardeners and they make an amazing salsa.
Randy joined American Senior Benefits as the Southern Utah Field Manager in April of 2012. He has a BA in Accounting. He began working in the insurance industry in 1982 and brings with him many years of financial services experience, as well as backgrounds in accounting and real estate. He has been a leading producer in both insurance and real estate throughout his career.
Randy and his wife Cherie have been married for 32 years. They are proud parents and grandparents. Dating Cherie, hiking, reading, and gardening fill most of his free time.
Brett joined American Senior Benefits in January of 2012. He was named the 2012 Rookie of the year. He was the 2013 Rookie Field Manager of the Year! He was selected to attend the 2013 National Sales Convention in the Dominican Republic and 2014 Convention in Orlando. Brett earned the Field Manager of the Year for his Region in 2014. He graduated from the University of Utah with a Bachelors degree in Sociology. He was also a member of the Baseball team while at U of U. While playing baseball in college Brett earned All American honors. He came to American Senior Benefits after a successful career in real estate. While in the real estate business, he earned several top honors and was considered by his peers as one of the top real estate agents in the state. Brett is always looking to do whats best for the client to make it a “Win-Win” solution.
Brett and his wife, Brandy have been married 15 years. They have 2 children. Born and raised in SLC. They currently live in South Jordan. They enjoy traveling with their daughters cheer squad and spending time at the ball fields with their sons baseball team.
Rick Carpenter, JD
Senior Agent and Regional Counsel
Rick joined American Senior Benefits in April 2011. He quickly became a valued and productive team member, training and mentoring other agents throughout Utah. Rick is a native of Chandler, Arizona. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Finance from Arizona State University, and has over twenty years of finance experience. His prior positions include Director of Finance for Penske Automotive Group, and Senior Financial Analyst for General Dynamics Military Electronics Division. Today, Rick is a Senior Agent with award wining production in 2012, 13 and 14. He also serves as legal counsel for the Western States Region of American Senior Benefits.
At age 50, Rick earned his Juris Doctor degree from Concord Law School, with an emphasis in health care law. He now uses this education to better assist his clients with health-related choices and other areas of elder care.
Rick lives in Payson, Utah with his wife, Jacey, and their four youngest children. He is committed to community service, and presently serves as the executive leader of a local Boy Scout troop. While living in Arizona, he was a volunteer police officer, having graduated at the top of his law enforcement academy class. Rick is an avid golfer, having competed with professionals in local events in Arizona. He also enjoys photography, camping and woodworking.

Jared is committed to helping people. He earned top honors as the leading Producer in the Region in 2012, 13, and 14. His wife is also very talented. She was awarded the, “Excel Outstanding Educator of the Year” for the Granite School District in SLC, Utah in 2012.
These two remarkable people are both very active in their church and community. They enjoy the time they have with their four children and grandchildren.
